Head Coach - Mr. Tom Caccia

Welcome to the web site for the Hillmen Swimming Team.  Our team is a Wisconsin Co-Op Team comprising swimmers from Platteville High School and Lancaster High School.  We hope you enjoy your stay at our website.

 Hillmen Will Celebrate Their

 30th Anniversary Year In 09-10!

PLEASE NOTE:  Driving Directions can be found at either the

specific schedule or from the "Schedules" link on the top

of this page.

Girls End Season with 9th Place Finish at Sectionals

The Hillmen Girls Swimming Season ended with a ninth place finish at the Baraboo Sectionals.  Although the swimmers put together some remarkable swims and 62% of the swims at Sectionals were Season and Lifetime best swims, none of the Hillmen Qualified for the State Championships.  Thanks to all the seniors for their four years to the team.

We're looking forward to next year when many of the swimmers who competed at Sectionals will return and we will start our next season in August.

Girls Start The Season With A Meet Against Monroe

The Platteville/Lancaster Girls opened their 30th season with a loss to Monroe at the Monroe YMCA.  Although starting out as a team faster than last year, the Cheesemakers return several top swimmers from one year ago and were able to defeat the Hillmen by 34 points.  The high point of the meet was Freshmen Claire Friederick set a new Metric Lancaster Record in the 50 Meter Freestyle with a time of :29.91.  Check out complete results at:

Southern Lakes Boys Conference Championships To Be Hosted At The University of Wisconsin-Platteville

The Boys Team will be host of the Southern Lakes Conference Championships this year on the 6th of February in 2010.  Because this is the 30th Anniversary year of the team, if any alumni plan on showing up for the meet, please let Coach know so we can make mention of it.

The First Ever Hillmen Swimming Team!

The young women pictured at the left were the first team to ever represent the Hillmen Swimming Program.  In August of 1980, 26 inexperienced girls led the Hillmen to a 3-4 season record.  Thanks to these young women, this team was off and running!

Pictured in row 1, left to right are:  Juli Adrian, Lisa Schaefer, Heidi Schneller, Brenda Stark, and Coach Caccia (Yes, that really is him at age 24 - notice the hair - at one time, he really did have some!)

Row 2:  Chris Brooks, Barb Otto, Debbie Schwark, Monica Fitzgerald (Most Improved), Lisa Flesch, and Coach Flanagan.

Row 3:  Fae Flesch, Tricia Baker, Julie O'Neill, Lisa Oates, and Sue Popple

Row 4:  Tina Pearce, Elizabeth Jared, Karen Heim, Chris Ruggle, Barb Woodward, and Kim Timlin

Row 5:  Sue Popple, Cathy Chryst (Captain), Kelly Hauser, Chris Vradenburg, Kara O'Neill (Most Valuable), and Lisa Byrnes.

Girls Fundraising Was Huge Success!

The girls swimming team did an outstanding job of fund raising this year.  They were able to "pay off" their loans, buy some supplies, pay for their trip to Chicago and put some money away for next year.  Now it's the job of the next set of swimmers to do the same!  Keep up the great work, ladies.

The Boys Swim Team Will Welcome the Beloit Purple Knights to the 26th Annual Swimming Invitational!

The Hillmen Boys Swimming Team will welcome the Beloit Memorial Purple Knights to the 2010, 26th Annual Hillmen Invitational.  Deforest has decided not to return and after a long absence from the meet, the Purple Knights will return.  We look forward to Coach Vogel and his team joining us next January.
